With the Law Program in Barranquilla, the Corporación Universitaria Rafael Núñez has begun an extension process to other parts of the Colombian Caribbean. Since the first semester of the year 2003 it offers in campus studies in the city of Barranquilla. It currently has an Administrative Academic structure directed by a Dean, three Area Coordinators, a Research Coordinator, a Social Projection Coordinator, a Juridical Office Director, a University Welfare Coordinator, an official in charge of the Library, an official in charge of Systems and secretaries.
The program began in 2003 with ten academic semesters which go from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. it currently has a teaching staff of 19 teachers with Masters degrees, seven professors studying to obtain their Master’s degree financed by the Corporation, five professors studying to obtain their master’s degree financed by themselves and fifteen professors graduated as specialists.
It also has the Andres Bello research group in the B Category in Colciencias. In October 2007 we obtained first place in the National Hotbed Research Contest—REDCOLCI—which took place in October 2007 in the city of Barranquilla.
From our Social Projection and Internship activities we have been performing Agreements of great social contribution wo the community such as the one entered into with the National Reconciliation and Reparation Commission CNRR, which contemplates training our students in Reconciliation and Reparation to later identify and help the Victims of the Armed Conflict in Colombia, and also the research Project which is being done on the particular experience of the Wayu Community in Guajira, on the topic of Conciliation and Reparation to get help from the Commission.
